A Very Special Memorial Day Weekend

Memorial Day weekend is a time to honor our nation’s soldiers and veterans. 

Every year, we offer a 50% discount on Memorial Day for active duty and retired military personnel for brunch, lunch, or dinner. Our military guests just need to show a valid ID or wear their uniform. 

This year, we also hosted our American Chopper at Farmers Fishers Bakers DC at Georgetown’s Washington Harbour all weekend along. Made exclusively for our farmer owners at the North Dakota Farmers Union (NDFU) by none other than Paul Teutul, Jr. and his talented team at Paul Jr. Designs, our American Chopper was recently unveiled on Discovery Channel’s American Chopper (Season 12; Episode 4). The art on our Chopper pays tribute to the importance of American family farming and Founding Farmers. Guests got a chance to snap a pic of with our Chopper. 

All weekend long, we also gave a portion of our proceeds for several food & drink specials to the Armed Services Arts Partnership, which aims to cultivate community and growth with veterans, service members, military families, and caregivers through the arts. All of our restaurants – Founding Farmers and Farmers Fishers Bakers DC – served a special American Chopper-inspired menu featuring two handcrafted drinks: a non-alcoholic Chopper Cherry Rickey and our Chopper Cobbler, using spirits from our award-winning, in-house distillery, Founding Spirits. During lunch and dinner, we also served a delicious Chopper Burger with house-made BBQ sauce, bacon, pimento cheese, and caramelized onions. 

It was a great weekend to honor support our nation’s soldiers and veterans.
