The farmers of North Dakota had an idea for a restaurant.
When the members of North Dakota Farmers Union (NDFU) began talking about the future, they sought to provide a restaurant brand where consumers would benefit from a direct link to the source of foods cultivated on American family farms. And Farmers Restaurant Group was born. As we watch much of the restaurant industry cut labor costs and offer foods with additives to extend shelf life, we are doing the opposite.
We continually look for opportunities to add value to all our ingredients. We source pure ingredients in order to cook, mix, and bake our food and beverage items from scratch, in-house, every day, all while honoring American family farmers and their hard-earned bounty.
We call it “Unbundling the Supply Chain.”
We successfully add value and unbundle the supply chain by offering the freshest, sustainably grown ingredients we can find to serve in our restaurants. As such, we choose the flour to make our bread from the state mill in North Dakota, our dairy products are farm fresh and all-natural, we source sustainably grown vegetables whenever possible to show support to farming communities, we press our own juice daily for use throughout our food and bar & beverage offerings, and we support sustainable agriculture of refined grains for use on all our menus.
