Leading by Example: Green Business Award for Founding Farmers
It’s been a big week for our company and our commitment to sustainable operations. After our featured role in the Alice Ferguson Trash Summit, Founding Farmers was awarded an important environmental award Thursday evening in Bethesda, MD. Bethesda Magazine and Bethesda Green honored our company with their Leading By Example Green Business Award.
The annual Bethesda Green Gala brought together businesses and environmental activists from across the region for a night of celebrating those doing their best work to preserve our planet and everyone on it, starting right here in our own neighborhoods.
MoCo’s Founding Farmers was recognized for our outstanding efforts in keeping it green. Whether launching our own sustainably-minded non-profit, Our Last Straw, our ongoing efforts to operate sustainably, or the fact that we build our restaurants in pursuit of LEED and Green Restaurant Association certifications, we are delighted to be recognized as a leader. We hope it makes our farmer owners proud.
Erin Chalkley, FRG’s Construction & Development Project Manager and LEED Green Associate, attended the 10th Anniversary Bethesda Green Gala to receive the award for MoCo’s Founding Farmers. She said it was a great night for our company, and for our planet.
